Joykem is used alone or with other medicines to prevent and treat Nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery. Joykem works in the stomach to block the signals to the brain that cause Nausea and vomiting.
Joykem is to be given only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor.
Warnings: Persons who are dealing with medical conditions like kidney problems, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, fits (epileptic seizures), unusual heart rate (rhythm), elderly, low potassium levels in your blood, taking any drugs which may lower potassium levels (such as thiazide, diuretics, bendroflumethiazide, hydrochlorothiazide), stroke, history of blood clots, low number of white blood cells (agranulocytosis) should consult with a doctor before taking Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's. Do not take Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's or any of its contents. Do not take Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's causes drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's can be given to children above 10 years if prescribed by the doctor for treating mental conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Rise slowly from sitting or lying position as Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's causes orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing). Inform your doctor before taking Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's if you have diabetes as Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's can cause an increase in blood sugar levels. Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's may not be suitable for people with a history of prolactin-dependant breast cancer as Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's increases prolactin levels. Joykem ODT 200 Tablet 10's should not be used in adults to treat dementia-related psychosis.
Medicine Interaction: If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Joykem ODT 200 Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Joykem ODT 200 Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Alcohol
Amiodarone
Amphotericin B
Bepridil
Beta-blockers
Bupropion
Central nervous system depressants
Cisapride
Citalopram
Clonidine
Side Effects: Signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
sudden dizziness (like you might pass out),
fast or pounding heartbeats, fluttering in your chest,
shortness of breath or
low potassium level--leg cramps, constipation, irregular heartbeats, fluttering in your chest, increased thirst or urination, numbness or tingling, muscle weakness or limp feeling.
Common side effects may include:
low potassium,
feeling light-headed,
stomach bloating or
pain where the medicine was injected.
