Amitone is a type of asthma medication which, when taken every day and used along with other antiasthma medications, may reduce the frequency, severity, and duration of asthma symptoms or attacks in children. It may also lead to a reduction in daily requirements of other antiasthma medications. Amitone is not effective for the prevention or treatment of acute asthma attacks. Amitone works by inhibiting certain substances in the body that are known to cause inflammation and symptoms of asthma.

Warnings: Do not take AMITONE 25MG TABLET if you are allergic to any of its contents if you recently had a heart attack, or heart problems, are taking other antidepressants like isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine or have taken them in the last 14 days, have severe liver disease or if you have taken moclobemide (used to treat depression and social anxiety). Inform your doctor before taking AMITONE 25MG TABLET if you have heart rhythm problems or hypotension. Consult your doctor immediately if you have suicidal thoughts such as killing or harming yourself. Do not take AMITONE 25MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. AMITONE 25MG TABLET causes drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. AMITONE 25MG TABLET can be given to children above 6 years if prescribed by the doctor for treating bedwetting. AMITONE 25MG TABLET should not be given to children for treating depression or neuropathic pain. Avoid consuming alcohol along with AMITONE 25MG TABLET as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Rise slowly from sitting or lying position as AMITONE 25MG TABLET causes orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing).
Medicine Interaction: AMITONE 25MG TABLET may have interaction with pain killers (tramadol, trazodone, hydrocodone, oxycodone, acetaminophen), an antidepressant (bupropion, duloxetine, fluoxetine, sertraline), antihistamine (diphenhydramine, cetirizine), sedatives (zolpidem), muscle relaxant (cyclobenzaprine), anti-convulsant (gabapentin, lamotrigine, escitalopram, pregabalin, topiramate), anti-thyroid (levothyroxine), and anti-anxiety (alprazolam).

Symptoms of overdose:
Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:
Blurred vision,
confusion,
convulsions,
disorientation,
dizziness,
drowsiness (severe),
faintness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position,
fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse,
hyperexcitability,
loss of consciousness,
palpitations,
sweating,
unusual tiredness or weakness.
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
