Megamentin Injection is a penicillin-type of antibiotic that helps your body fight infections cautilized by bacteria. It is utilized to treat infections of the lungs (e.g., pneumonia), ear, nasal sinus, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. It will not work for viral infections such as the common cold.
Megamentin Injection is generally administered by a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. Depending on the severity of your underlying illness, your doctor will decide the precise dose and schedule as per which this injection is to be given. It is strictly advised to be utilized as per the doctor’s doctor endorsed.
Common side effects of this medication include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Additionally, you may notice some injection site reactions like pain, swelling, or redness. Please consult your doctor if these do not get better or persist for a longer duration of time. In cases of patients with severe liver or kidney disease, consult your doctor before you start with the treatment.

Pregnancy Interaction: Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Prescription: Yes
Food Interaction: Rash, Vomiting, Allergic reaction, Nausea, Diarrhoea.
Breast Feeding Interaction: Megamentin Injection is a combination of two medicines: Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate amoxicillin. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxicillin against bacteria.
