Femistra Tablet is used to treat early breast cancer with hormone receptor-positive in women who have finished menopause (postmenopausal women) after initial therapy. Femistra is used as a primary treatment for locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer in women with hormone receptor-positive or unknown hormone receptor. It can also be used for the treatment of advanced breast cancer with grown cancer after tamoxifen therapy in postmenopausal women. This medicine works by preventing natural substance and reducing the estrogen synthesis in the body.
When not to use
Femistra will not work to treat breast cancer in premenopausal women.
Non-Steroidal Aromatase Inhibitors
Femistra is a prescription medicine that belongs to a class of medicines called Non-Steroidal Aromatase Inhibitors. Non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors widely used in the treatment of breast cancer. It lessens the estrogen amount that stimulates the growth of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer cells.

Warnings: Do not take Femistra Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of its contents, not yet gone through menopause (still get your periods). To treat your condition effectually continue taking Femistra Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not stop Femistra Tablet 10's midway. Talk to your doctor before taking Femistra Tablet 10's if you have allergies, osteoporosis (thinning of bones), bone fractures, high level of cholesterol, severe liver, or kidney disease. Avoid taking Femistra Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Femistra Tablet 10's causes weakness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Femistra Tablet 10's should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Femistra Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Inform your doctor about your health condition and medications before taking Femistra Tablet 10's to rule out any side-effects.
Medicine Interaction: Using thalidomide (immunomodulatory agent) together with Femistra Tablet 10's, can increase the risk of dangerous blood clots. The risk is also increased with age, cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
